women's rights in new york today
Today, women in New York are allowed to do much more than they used to be allowed to do. For example, women in New York today are allowed to own property, write wills, participate in any form of government, vote, have a job, get an education, and are considered equal to men by most people in New York. Although women are usually treated as equals, they are not payed the same amount as men for the same jobs. In 2011, Women that were doing the same job as men got 77 cents for every man's dollar. It is not yet against the law to pay women less for the same job as men. Today, although women's rights in New York have changed a lot for the better, women are still treated unfairly sometimes in terms of earning money.
